STA Student and Family Counselling Information and Support

“Fear not, I am with you; be not dismayed; I am your God. I will strengthen you, and help you, and uphold you with my right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

School Counselling Mandate:
School counsellors offer support for students and parents.  We provide students with strategies and coping skills for concerns they are struggling with.  However, if a student requires therapy, we will encourage the referral to an outside counsellor or Alberta Health Services.

School Counsellor Office Hours:
School Days 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 pm

Individual Counselling Support:

  • Current Counselling Students
Please reach out to your current counsellor through email or telephone for support. With your counsellor, you can determine the best way to access support through email, telephone, or Google Meets. Google Meets is a video conferencing app that allows participants to join pre-scheduled meetings.
  • New Counselling Students
New referrals can be made with a phone call (403-346-8951); an email to:
    Leo Chauvet
    Tara Lawrance
    Karen Wilson

or by filling out this form and a counsellor will be in contact with you directly.  All requests will be reviewed during school hours.
