RDCRS to host Blue and Yellow Day for Ukraine on Wednesday

Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools will host a Blue and Yellow Day - A Day of Prayer for Ukraine, on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. 

The Holy Father Pope Francis has declared March 2, Ash Wednesday, as a Day of Prayer for fasting and peace as he urged the faithful to pray for peace in Ukraine. 

He tweeted on February 27, "I renew my invitation for everyone to take part on 2 March, Ash Wednesday, in a Day of Prayer and Fasting for Peace in Ukraine, in order to be near to the suffering Ukrainian people, to be aware that we are all brothers and sisters, and to implore God for an end to the war." 

Let us join our Holy Father in prayer for the people of Ukraine as they courageously defend their nation. May God intervene to bring peace to the region and protect those fighting for their families, their country, and their lives.

“Our message to the people of Ukraine is that you are not alone. We stand with you. Through prayer, we find strength in numbers. Now is a time for us to come together as a Division, and as a community, and pray for those impacted by the invasion and for peace,” said Board Chair, Kim Pasula at Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools.
